Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. creates a community of readers in the second 1000 days of a Filipino child.
Ikalawang Isang Libong Araw
In support of Republic Act No. 10410, or the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) System Act, the Ikalawang Isang Libong Araw Program equips parents and child development workers with the knowledge, skills, and materials to strengthen the literacy of children aged three to four. Designed for integration into existing local government systems, the program empowers learning partners through community- and home-based interventions in early learning and reading.
The program provides:
Training manuals and Adarna House Big Books for child development workers
Home Activities and Adarna House Picture Books for parents
Magsimulang Magbasa Program
This initiative develops children’s reading readiness through book-based and play-based experiences.
Two key implementers drive the program: child development workers and parents. Both receive training and tools to support literacy development in school and at home, ensuring aligned learning environments for children.
In 2025, the program was implemented in 72 child development centers across partner sites in collaboration with the LBC Hari ng Padala Foundation:
