Adarna House Joins Adarna Group Foundation in Bringing Stories to the Heart of the Community
As the corporate social responsibility arm of Adarna House, Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. (AGFI) aims to foster volunteerism and engage Adarna House employees in meaningful activities that connect them to the very children they serve. The Kuwentong Adarna initiative is one of the annual activities organized by Adarna House and AGFI to not only bring stories to children but also to strengthen employees’ values of social responsibility, community engagement, and love for every Filipino child.

At the heart of Adarna House are its core values: Husay, Malasakit, Pag-ibig sa Bayan, Masipag, and Mapagkakatiwalaan. The values that the company embodies in its work are the same it brings to Filipino children. It brought these, hand in hand with AGFI, to the two-day Kuwentong Adarna activity that brought reading, music, and creative play to different communities.
On the first day, AGFI brought Adarna House to one of its pioneer communities in Samal, Bataan, engaging nearly 60 daycare students through dancing, storytelling, and arts and crafts sessions. The stories “Pilong Patago-tago” and “But That Won’t Wake Me Up!” sparked laughter among the young learners of Adamson and Parang Daycare Centers, who eagerly participated in every activity.
On the second day, AGFI and Adarna House visited Iskolar Reading Center in Silang, Cavite, an organization devoted to cultivating a love for reading in its community. Though fairly new, the center has already become a vibrant space for children to explore stories and discover the joy of books—an advocacy that deeply resonates with AGFI’s mission. The storytelling sessions featured “Mahiyaing Manok” and “Bakit Matagal ang Sundo Ko?”. These stories were brought to life by Kuya Nonoy, an Adarna House employee and storyteller, whose lively performance captured the children’s imagination and kept them eagerly engaged throughout the session.
It was heartwarming to see employees enthusiastically volunteer their time and creativity—and equally touching to witness the children’s excitement and appreciation in return. It is with no doubt that every volunteer showed up with Adarna House’s values at heart. Malasakit and Husay shone through their dedication to creating meaningful experiences for the children through storytelling and creative activities. Mapagkakatiwalaan and Masipag were evident in their teamwork from preparations to the day’s events, while their Pag-ibig sa Bayan fueled their passion to serve, engage, and connect with the community.
Through Kuwentong Adarna, AGFI and Adarna House reaffirm their shared belief that stories have the power to connect with children. As AGFI and Adarna House look forward to future Kuwentong Adarna sessions, the goal remains steadfast: to bring the joy of reading to every Filipino child and to make every Filipino child a reader.
