AGFI’s 10th Year Anniversary: Looking Back

Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. (AGFI) is 10 years old!

AGFI celebrated its anniversary on February 14, 2023. This marks an entire decade of championing early literacy among Filpino children from the earliest age possible–a legacy built upon its first steps in 2013. The Foundation looks back on its humble beginnings, and is guided by them until this day.

From introducing books to six-month-old Filipino children, AGFI has now committed to promoting early stimulation and early reading as early as the first 1000 days of life. The Foundation began training learning partners on early literacy promotion with three programs, which have since turned into five and evolved into Step by Step. Its trailblazing strategy of collaborating with local government units, like-minded organizations, and co-advocates to advance early reading remains. Throughout the years, AGFI also continues to be supported by Adarna House volunteers in bringing the gift of reading across the country.

Congratulations to the top submissions of Spread Some Book Love Photo Contest!

The Foundation is proud of the progress it has made over the past ten years. To commemorate its milestones and give back to its supporters, it launched a series of initiatives in the first months of 2023: the Spread Some Book Love Photo Contest on January 31, the Eager Reader Fam Day on February 11, and the CSR activity with Adarna House volunteers on February 16.

The first 2023 Eager Reader Fam Day attendees participated in a storytelling session and story-based activities, including crafting their own musical instruments!

Adarna House volunteers distributed big books and loot bags to 40 daycare students at Samal, Bataan.

AGFI would like to thank all of those who believed, trusted, and supported the Foundation throughout its decade-long journey. Together with current and future partners, it looks forward to many more years of being in the service of Filipino children and working towards a Philippines where each one can read.
