Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. Resumes CSR Activities with Adarna House

Together with the team of Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. (AGFI), employees of Adarna House volunteered in Samal, Bataan on February 16, 2023.

The seven Adarna House volunteers spearheaded a series of storytelling sessions and story-based activities to help cultivate the interest in books and love for reading of 40 daycare students.

The students eagerly listened to the narration of Ang Pambihirang Sombrero by Jose Miguel Tejido and Ang Mahiyaing Manok by Rebecca Añonuevo–both published by Adarna House. It was an interactive session, where they got to answer questions and engage in making the stories come alive.

Aside from reading together, the volunteers and students participated in an arts and crafts activity. They made  mosaic art, with the children proudly showing off their creations during the show and tell.

The volunteers ended the day on a high and happy note and surprised the students with one lootbag and one big book each. Bright smiles and little remarks of “salamat po!” filled the court.

With the success of the first CSR activity post-pandemic, the volunteers expressed excitement for the next ones to come. AGFI is likewise excited to launch more volunteer opportunities in the coming months, which will be open to early reading advocates inside and outside Adarna House. Indeed, the more people working towards the promotion of early literacy, the better!
