Balik-LGU Through Twin Early Literacy Programs

Unang Isang Libong Araw and Unang Aklat learning sessions in Odiongan, Romblon, facilitated by their RHU staff.

Celebrating Adarna Group Foundation, Inc.’s ninth year anniversary, the Foundation launched its twin early literacy programs in municipalities of Odiongan, Romblon and Tolosa, Leyte.

Unang Isang Libong Araw and Unang Aklat programs focus on the early years of a child with elements on health, nutrition, early stimulation, and early literacy. Delivered through the LGU’s office of the mayor and health care system, the programs are directed towards the parents with young children of a community. They consist of both online and offline training, webinars, and the distribution of booklets for parents and developmentally-appropriate board books for children.

Virtual Memorandum of Agreement signing in Odiongan, Romblon. The activity was attended by Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic and members of their health department.

AGFI is fortunate to have Odiongan and Tolosa as its first partners for Unang Isang Libong Araw and Unang Aklat. The organization aims to bring their best practices to the other municipalities where it will launch the programs in 2022.
