The Association of Foundations’ 50th Anniversary

Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. attended the General Assembly and 50th Founding Anniversary of the Association of Foundations (AF) at Novotel Manila Araneta City on October 14, 2022.

The Foundation’s team members, President Emelina Almario, Executive Director Con Estrella, and Program Coordinator Pia Cervero, had the opportunity to listen to the 2021 reports of AF President Cecile Dominguez-Yujuico and Treasurer Pia Ortiz-Luis. They were pleased to hear about the strategic plans for 2022 to 2024, especially those regarding partnership initiatives. AGFI shares AF’s vision in the coming years: organizations unifying towards a common objective and becoming stronger together. Thus, it is excited to initiate, build, and scale-up joint actions through the collaboration hub.

AF awarded its outgoing trustees with a Certificate of Appreciation.

The trio was also present during the talks of two distinguished speakers, Centre for Asian Philanthropy and Society (CAPS) Chief Executive Dr. Ruth Shapiro and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga. The team members learned about the Doing Good Index and how non-government organizations can address the trust deficit from the former, and about climate change and how the private and public sectors can approach risk governance and resilience together from the latter.

Following this, AF acknowledged its outgoing board members and announced the election results. Ms. Almario was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for her service from 2021 to 2022. In addition, she will be serving another term as a re-elected trustee.
